Bottled Water Vs Tap Water - Discover the Disturbing Truth Here

So the debate goes on, bottled water vs tap water, with no clear winner in sight. Make no mistake about it, neither of these are the best solution, as both carry health dangers with them. Let me explain why.
We seem these days to be caught up in the tap versus bottled water argument, but failing to see that neither is acceptable. The bottled variety has been proven to be no healthier than tap, as the US FDA says: "Companies that market bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the American public."
Many times in this bottled water vs tap water debate people forget the huge downside, that we throw away over 60,000,000 plastic bottles a day here in the US. This is a truly mind boggling amount and reason for some states to start charging an extra tax, as they have.
Remember, there are no government standards requiring it to be any better, purer or safer than tap water.
Similarly in the tap versus bottled water deliberations, we must bear in mind that a recent study has said there are 2100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer in our tap water, including herbicides, pesticides and pharmaceuticals.
Out of 29 states quality tested, everyone had traces of at least one weed killer in every glass. US EPA chief Carol Browner says: "The way we guarantee safe drinking water is broken and needs to be fixed."
So who is the real winner if both lose in the bottled water vs tap water debate? Well the answer is home filtered water. This is the way millions of Americans are already protecting themselves and the environment, by taking responsibility for their own well-being. So much for the tap versus bottled water argument!
Forget the reverse osmosis systems you may have heard about, as they are very wasteful, expensive to maintain and do not filter out all the dangers. They also remove the vital trace minerals we need for our long term health like calcium and potassium.
They should be included in the bottled water vs tap water debate as they are just as bad, except you pay a lot of money for the privilege!
The most effective on the market today are multi-stage carbon filter systems. Look for one that employs a sub micron filter and ion exchange to remove an amazing 99% of all contaminants.
They are also recommended by the US EPA as the best technology to fight today's contamination.
In conclusion, it is a great shame that there are no winners from the bottled water vs tap water camps, as there really should be.
I hope I have shown the need to safeguard our own health and our future health, the futility of the tap versus bottled water argument and by investing in the right system, with today's technology, we can all have great tasting, pure healthy water with none of the health worries.

How Much Do Solar Panels Cost, Really?

You must have wondered at some point, just how much do solar panels cost, really? Of course, the obvious answer is that they are really very expensive, initially. A lot of specialized engineering and materials go into the manufacturing of each photovoltaic or PV cells, resulting in high production outlays and thus, high prices. This has always been true, and with recent interest in alternative sources of energy, higher demand for this type of technology has also made the price of materials higher. This has also increased the need to know just how much can solar panels set back one's home improvement budget.
However, sun-powered electricity has not yet been accepted broadly by the mainstream, meaning that the technologies involved in creation of panels have not yet been optimized, and are not being optimized as fast as they could be. This also means that there are only a small number of companies who are active in the market, and without much competition, prices will tend to remain high. All of these reasons and factors contribute to making the prices of commercially available power systems, especially those with high power outputs, quite exorbitant.
How much does each solar panel cost? Roughly, a single one capable of producing 4.5 amperes of current would sell for three hundred dollars, at sale price. Apart from the panel, a complete harnessing setup would also include regulators, brackets, meters, and wiring, which would add a couple of hundred dollars to the total bill. Thus, a one-panel system can be estimated to cost at least four to five hundred dollars outright. That is undeniably a big amount of money, and this is exactly the major reason preventing greater acceptance and implementation of power.
However, in recent months, new innovations by DIY enthusiasts have managed to bring down the capital outlay for do-it-yourself solar panels. For less than $200, you can easily create a standalone power system using photovoltaic cells.
So, how much do solar panels cost? It depends on whether you are going the commercial or do-it-yourself route. Well, in the case of commercial setups, they cost in the hundreds and thousands of dollars for relatively small setups. If you intend to power your entire household using a commercial energy system, it can easily set you back by $30000 to $50000 as a ballpark figure. But continued interest and research in the field is sure to make it more affordable in the near future. As for the homemade version, you probably need to spend at most $1000 to $2000 and get your entire house powered by the sun.

Know Your Tech-Speak - Linux Dedicated Servers

There is something to be said about using either shared web hosting solutions or those that are dedicated to a single platform, either Windows based or Linux based. These two represent the most popular solutions on the internet for consumers and businesses to get online and distinct themselves on the information super highway. The former is more popular because of the fact that it is shared, which means within the pipeline, there are a few users, and in some cases, a few hundred and even a few thousand users sharing the server bandwidth.
This is great when you are a simple consumer using the server for more leisure and casual reasons but when you are using the internet as a platform to extend your business, then you need to get a dedicated server. While more expensive, it is a dedicated server with customisable host names and more bandwidth to support your needs. This article will peek a little at the Linux dedicated server and tell you why they are great solutions for your business and in some cases, even personal needs. The reason why shared web hosting is so much more cost effective is because of the reason above - they use one single server in a location that can host tens of thousands of websites all over the world.
Because of volume, the cost goes down; but there are detriments to this, which include things like a shared bandwidth, meaning you will experience slowdowns and technical problems that are universal. With a dedicated Linux server, you will be guaranteed a larger bandwidth and your own personal space online. This is because your website is being handled by one single dedicated server, and because of the resource focus to keeping your website running, there is a higher level of reliability when compared to using shared hosting.
The equipment behind these servers are usually the best in the business, with high end servers being a feature common to Linux dedicated servers, so it is always a good idea to in that direction. You do not want to be caught in a position where you a riding on the back of a technologically inferior server that cannot deliver the power and speed that your website and business demands. With Linux servers, you know you are getting pre-configures and cutting edge equipment. The network connections are usually way above the consumer T3 connections; with gigabyte level bandwidths not uncommon with some Linux servers.
They will also provide you with custom software and a team to support the server, in case of any difficulties and issues with your web site. If you are looking for performance and piece of mind, the general advice is to go for a Windows based or Linux dedicated server. With so many issues already reported with shared servers, you know that this is the direction you need to provide your website with the resources that it needs. So know your tech speak and be aware of emerging technologies in web hosting, and make the right choice.

If you have ever tried to find out who a cell phone number belongs to with one of the online phone directories, you have probably come up short of your goal. These directories are are good way to do a reverse search for a land line number that is listed but they do not do much if you are trying to trace a cell phone number.
There are many legitimate reasons why you might want to track down a phone number. You may suspect your mate of infidelity and want to learn a bit more about the person that keeps calling him or her all the time. You may want to put a stop to prank calls or harassing calls. You may just want to know the identity of a caller before you return that call.
Before the advent of reverse cell phone directories, it was very tough to glean any information about the person behind that cell phone number. Privacy concerns and the lack of any kind of directory for these numbers made your task almost impossible. But now all of that frustration has been put to an end.
Technology has provided us with powerful centralized directories of cell numbers. Now it is almost as easy to trace one of these calls as it is any other. These services are not 100% perfect but they do return information for over 90% of all cell phone numbers, according to the companies.
From these databases you can find out the name of the owner, his or her current billing address, and more. If you feel the need to find out who a cell phone number belongs to, take advantage of this powerful technology.

Direct Sales Vs MLM

As the economy continues to crumble many people are searching for ways to either augment their income or to replace a job that they've already lost. Even those people who are still working are very concerned about losing their jobs and are seeking opportunities to solve this problem. One place that many people are turning to is the direct sales industry. Due to its association with multilevel marketing (MLM) however, many people are reluctant to get involved with it.
In the age of the Internet, the direct sales industry is nothing at all like MLM. Old school MLM was a painful and tedious process that required participants to call on family and friends while soliciting sales. This "warm list" would be pestered to buy products and-even better-to join the opportunity. These activities resulted in strained friendships and relationships and very rarely yielded sales. For this reason, the failure rate in MLM is extraordinarily high-about 97%.
The new direct sales model is entirely different because it uses sophisticated Internet technologies to make the process of marketing and lead generation highly efficient. In new age direct selling, the prospects come to you instead of you chasing them. The hunter becomes the hunted and instead of spending endless hours pounding the pavement or dialing for dollars, the direct sales entrepreneur can focus on more important tasks. By spending more time closing business and building relationships, an internet-based direct sales business can become extremely profitable very quickly.
Direct selling today combines state-of-the-art Internet tools that weren't even available 10 years ago. Now often referred to as Web 2.0 technology, savvy direct marketers use a combination of websites, blogs, auto responders, articles, press releases, and social networks to promote their message and generate leads. Sometimes called attraction marketing, or magnetic sponsoring, the intent is to have qualified prospects come to you having already done their research and who are ready to buy.
Another aspect of today's direct selling environment is the concept of GPT (get paid today) where prospective customers make a small purchase as they move through the sales pipeline. The money they spend helps to sustain the marketing effort and to keep the new entrepreneur in the game.
For these reasons, anyone considering a move into direct marketing in order to combat the stress of the recession is looking in the right direction. The best approach is to go online and conduct research in order to find an opportunity that will fit your lifestyle and meet your professional goals.

How to Achieve Any Goal - Really

The ability to become a high achiever, a super star, was considered innate for years. Now we know it is not. Talent is achieved, not innate. It is all based on goals and how we pursue them.
We are all very aware of the importance of setting goals. We are also very aware of the fact that most goals are never achieved. That is not so much because we don't want to achieve our goals, it is much more the fact that we don't know how to achieve a goal.
Neuroscientists have focused on goal achievement for the last 20 years and have come up with a much better understanding of why some people are high achievers and others are not. And it has nothing to do with innate abilities.
You probably have figured out that since it involves neuroscience, we must be talking about the brain, and you are exactly right. Most of us don't set our brains correctly for our goals and that has been the problem.
When we do the research, we find how relatively simple it is to achieve a goal. Simple yes, easy, not so much.
As you know, our brains literally control everything about us and are a very complex organ.
Here are some facts about our brains that we must understand as we start the goal achievement process.
Our brain is about 2% of our body weight, yet uses almost 25% of our bodies energy. That means that all the other 98% of our body, uses only 75% of the energy. That should get you thinking that our brains are by far the single most important element in goal achievement, and you are absolutely correct.
Another fact you must know is that our conscious mind is able to focus on 7 things at a time. However, our subconscious mind is able to focus on 20MM things. Wow! That means it is imperative that we utilize our subconscious mind in order to become a high achiever. How do we do that? Good question
Allow me to introduce you to something you have done for years and years and never thought about. And you are an expert at it - automaticity. This is one of the first and most important factors we must use when pursuing a goal.
Automaticity is the ability of our subconscious mind to take over an action so we can focus our conscious mind on something else. For example, when you pick up a fork and eat your spaghetti, you don't think about the fork and how to use it. You did as a child when you were learning to use silverware, but now it is automatic. The same with driving a car, turning a door knob, picking up keys, we have trained our subconscious mind in all these things so we can use our conscious mind for learning new things. And that is automaticity.
Now why is that so important? Good question. Here is why automaticity is so important.
Any goal that we want to achieve simply requires us to learn a skill. That may sound too easy, but it is true. Think about it. If you want to become a concert pianist, you need to learn the skill of piano playing. An artist, art, etc.
The way we learn skills is to break the skill down into small steps, learn them one at a time, and, if we stick with it, we put them together and soon we have the skill. The more we improve our ability with that skill, the closer we become to being a high achiever.
That, of course, is a gross simplification of the process, but that is basically how all skill development is achieved.
The key to skill development is to move new skills as we learn them from the conscious mind to the subconscious mind - automaticity - that frees our conscious mind to focus on a new step in the skill development process. Remember, the conscious mind can't handle much, so if there are 32 steps for our goal, automaticity is critical. Without it, we will never get past step 2 or 3.
So for today, automaticity is the key element we must understand. Automaticity is created through practice. Practicing the skill steps that are needed. You and I have done this all our lives, we just didn't know the neuroscience behind it. This gives us the power to continue to pursue a goal.
Next time, The perfect scenario for goal achievement.

How to Use the One Stroke Painting Technique

What is the one stroke painting technique?
As its name suggests, the one stroke painting technique simply means you achieve everything in just one stroke. This includes shading, highlighting and blending - you get all this from a single stroke instead of having to use multiple strokes. All you have to do is load different colours on to a flat brush. It can be used on a variety of different surfaces.
Is it for beginners or advanced painters?
Both! Even though the one stroke painting technique was developed with beginners in mind, it's fully accessible to everyone. People who have never painted before find it just as enjoyable as people who've been painting for years. One of the reasons why it's become so popular is because it's so accessible and easy to learn. It's attracted lots of new people to painting and it's intrigued and caught the attention of many professional painters.
Who came up with the idea?
The one stroke painting technique was devised by American author and artist Donna Dewburry. She paints flowers and animals in her demonstrations, but the technique can be used to paint practically anything. Why has this painting technique become so popular? Simply because it allows you to very quickly and easily create very beautiful works of art.
How do I load my paintbrush?
For one stroke painting you should use paintbrushes developed by Donna because they are best suited for this technique. On her website there are loads of different options to choose from. To load your paintbrush, simply make little puddles of paint on your palette. Dip one corner of your brush into one colour then turn it over and dip the corner into the other colour. Keep stroking the brush back and forth across the paint to fully load it. You can add as many different colours as you want, but for beginners, it's best to start off with two.
How do I do the strokes properly?
Brushes are usually flat and have a chiselled edge. To do a typical stroke, simply have the brush standing on the chisel edge then press down while moving the brush and ending up on the chiselled edge. The more pressure you apply, the wider the stroke will be. Move the paintbrush in different to create different effects. A good way to practice different techniques is to paint different flower petals.
Flower petals
To create a teardrop petal shape, have the paintbrush on the chisel edge then press down so the bristles bend. Then pivot the paintbrush around till you've created a teardrop shape and lift the paintbrush up to the chisel. Thin, pointed petals are very easy to do; simply lean down on the chisel and slide the paintbrush up to the tip of the petal and release. Twist the paintbrush to have the petals bend. Petals with jagged edges are done by pushing down on the bristles and slowly wiggling the paintbrush up. When you're near the tip of the petal, smoothly slide the paintbrush the rest of the way and lift it up to the chisel edge. Then reverse the direction of the bristles and lean down on them. Work your way down to the base of the petal by applying pressure to the paintbrush and slide slowly back to the base.
Many possibilities
The examples given are just a few of the many different things you can do with one stroke painting. Though it's easy to get started, you need to practice to become really proficient at it and flower petals are good practice for beginners. The more you use this painting method, the more you realise how much potential it has. You can use all sorts of different colours and different types of paintbrushes to create different effects. People even decorate household items using this technique. The possibilities are endless!

7 Benefits Of Karate For Kids

Karate for kids has many amazing benefits, both mental and physical. The information below outlines seven of the best benefits of this time-honored skill.
  1. Helps To Build Self-Confidence- It is often noticed by parents, teachers, and other adults that as children progress and become more skilled at karate, they exhibit more self-confidence. Beginning karate students begin with a white belt and then progress through various belt colors as their skills improve, finally becoming a black belt. Each new level requires hard work and diligence but the goals are definitely obtainable. The change of belt color serves as a constant reminder of their accomplishment and gives them the self-confidence and self-esteem to advance even further in karate and in other areas of their life as well.

  2. It Is a Deterrent To Bullies - One of the biggest social challenges our children face today is dealing bullies. While bullies have always been around, the problem seems to have gotten much worse over the past decade. Karate gives a child an empowering feeling since they will know they can protect themselves if they absolutely need too. More importantly perhaps, karate helps give them the confidence to deal more effectively with bullies. Also, when it becomes known that a kid excels in karate, they are more respected by other kids and less likely to get picked on.

  3. This Is the Perfect For ADHD Kids - Kids with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have trouble concentrating on any task, mental or physical, for long. They often also have trouble with self-control. Lecturing ADHD kids about these deficits has little to no effect. Punishing children with ADHD often makes them even more unruly and less able to focus on their homework and other tasks because they simply don't know how to deal with their problem. Karate is a fun and effective way to get them to learn how to focus and channel their extra energy into constructive tasks.

  4. This Skill Teaches Respect and Honor - It is traditional for karate students to bow to their instructor at the beginning of every lesson. It is also traditional for karate students to bow to their worthy opponent. Respect and honor is an integral part of this art form and students are taught to never use their karate for anything that is not honorable. Furthermore, karate does not focus on winning but rather on self-improvement and becoming a more honorable person.

  5. Helps Them Make New Friends - When children share a common interest and participate in a mutual activity, they usually find it easier to bond. This is especially true for shy kids who may have trouble making new friends. Karate helps improve socialization skills too. Karate exercises like jiu jitsu require that kids pair off to practice and this gives these children a common task where they are required to help each other. As they pair off with different partners, new friendships are often forged.

  6. Improves Their Ability To Listen and Take Instruction - Little ones often resist instruction as they are growing up. They don't always listen well and they don't follow instructions well. Learning how to be humble and learn from those more experienced than you are is an important lesson that karate teaches students. Further, because children enjoy karate, they are highly motivated to improve so they tend to listen more closely and follow instructions more precisely. This spills over to listening better to parents and teachers because they are also taught to have respect for the wisdom more experienced people have to offer.

  7. Karate For Kids Helps Them Stay Healthy - The United States Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 17 percent of all American children are obese. Furthermore, a much larger percentage is overweight. Kids who are overweight often develop diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, that used to develop only in adults. Keeping your kids active is a good way help prevent this problem, keep their muscles toned, and their cardiovascular system in tip top shape. Taking karate lessons is a great way to keep kids active with an activity they thoroughly enjoy. The physical activity often continues outside of classes too. Instead of being a sedentary couch potato, you'll find them wanting to be in the backyard practicing their karate skills.
Final Thoughts
Enrolling your child in karate lessons is a guaranteed way to enrich their life in many ways. Moreover, the benefits are long-lasting. Even long after the lessons stop, and into adulthood, your child will carry with them the amazing benefits karate teaches them.
If you're considering karate lessons for your child or yourself, come in to Fighting Griffin Family Karate and try a class for free. Find out more information at http://guelphfamilykarate.com.

Tips On How To Take Good Care Of Your Acrylic Painting

Acrylic is a transparent material that is used for many purposes. One of the major functions of the material is to display paintings. If you have an acrylic artwork you need to put a number of measures in place to ensure that it retains its elegant look for a long time. Some of the measures that you need to put in place include:
Avoid placing the paintings under direct sunlight. To ensure that the artworks don't fade you should place them under indirect sunlight, halogen lights or under recessed lighting. These lights don't affect the paintings thus the artworks retain their original look for a long time.
You should also avoid displaying the artworks in places of high or too low temperatures. For example, you should not display them in areas that are above 60 °C or below 40 °C.
For ideal results you should ensure that you place paintings in places with relative humidity. You should also ensure that the artworks are in places where the temperature is constant.
You should not allow rigid objects to press against the front or the back surface of the stretched canvas because this results to permanent indentation damage. If you are transporting or storing the painting you should ensure that you place it in a package that is moisture and water resistant.
The package should also be cushioned to absorb shock the may result from bumps. Experts recommend that the package should be wrapped and sealed to ensure that its dent, puncture, and humidity resistant.
If you want to clean the surface of the painting, you should avoid using solvents or other cleaning products. This is because the cleaning products usually embed the dirt into the artwork and cause permanent liquid lines over the surface which gives the painting a very displeasing look.
Instead of using cleaning liquids you should use compressed air in a can to blow away the surface dust. If you don't have access to compressed air you should use a dry, soft brush to lightly brush the surface. You should be careful when brushing and ensure that you don't bump or scratch the painting.
If you clean your artwork for a long time and you notice that the dirt is not coming off you should seek out for professional services. For ideal results you should hire the services of an experienced art conservator who will know the best way of cleaning the painting without causing any damage.

Add a Touch of Whimsey to a Room

I like to suggest adding something unusual, something unexpected to a room, to give it a sense of originality, something that makes the room very personal to the people who live in it. I call it a touch of whimsey. A very serious, well organized and cohesive room can be transformed into a unique one by the addition of a small, but very unexpected shot of personality that no one else has.
Several years ago, I worked with a client who needed to transform a very large and modern room. The client was in transition, moving from a romantic style to a more modern and sleek room that would better conform with the home's architecture. Knowing that this was a transition period for the client, I suggested that she choose a light fixture that had a touch of whimsey, anything she liked. The space was off center from the room, but a necessary spot of light. I should not have been surprised when she followed her earlier desire and when with something light, airy and definitely romantic. She appreciates the clean and simple lines of modernism, which now showcase the gorgeous views from her hilltop home. I'm sure she still smiles when she looks back and sees her touch of whimsey.
Another client found a little old wooden bird cage at a flea market. This was a case of falling in love with a great piece and needing to bring it home; she just had a connection and wanted to use the cage.
Once the room was painted a cool, soft gray-green and the coved ceilings were showcased in a crisp white, the little bird cage made a nice statement in the corner of the living room. Thoughts of what to put in the cage ranged from the silly to the predictable, but we settled on whimsey. The cage is light weight and hangs from a pretty light blue ribbon, reminiscent of the sky. Inside the cage are five felt pillows shaped like clouds and outlined in blue embroidery thread. One of the clouds has a yellow lightening bolt embroidered on it and cannot be seen until one is close-- now that is a surprise.
Something out of the ordinary and unpredictable is the difference between a stuffy, but well organized room and a fun spontaneous room. I have come across plenty of couples who have hobbies and collections that are the bane of one person in the relationship. I find it a perfect solution to marry the two opposing styles. If one partner loves collecting super hero characters, for instance, the other can position one or two or three in a bookcase in an otherwise serious room. A formal living room, takes on a much less serious tone with a super hero strategically placed somewhere in the room: under a lamp on a side table, off center on the mantel, or sitting on a coffee table along with more serious items.
Of course, one should not get carried away with whimsey, or it becomes chaotic and childish, but used sparingly a whimsical item can be a fun object d' art. Keep the serious collections in a personal room, in an office or den, or part of a family room.

Wedding Jewelry Trends For This Summer

The summer wedding season is here-whether you're planning on getting hitched, or just really love jewelry and accessories, here's a look at what's hot in wedding jewelry and accessories for summer 2014, according to the experts at Vogue Paris and msn.com.
Art deco is in - The vintage look has always had its place in wedding jewelry. For this summer, look for unique pieces that combine an antique look with modern style. Revisit your grandmother's jewelry box for pendants with photos, and ethnic necklaces and bracelets from the old country.
Animals and nature - Animal-inspired jewelry has been popular and continues to trend into this summer, so go ahead and show your inner lioness with exotic animal-motif jewelry. Look for faux animal skin bracelets, faux cheetah or leopard fur necklaces, tiger or elephant head pendants, or feather earrings. Make it personal by selecting an animal that represents you best.
Green is still great - Pantone named emerald the color of the year for 2013, and green is still great for this summer. Pay homage to your love of nature and the outdoors with green gemstone jewelry. Brides-to-be, take note: emeralds are still hot in bridal jewelry, and emeralds are even taking the place of diamonds in many engagement rings.
Metals rock - Silver metals against tan skin add a bit of edge to your look. A recent study by the Silver Promotion Service showed that 46 percent of consumers prefer white metals for diamond jewelry. If you're feeling bold, go with black diamonds on silver or white metal.
Neon colored highlights -Yes, girls still want to have fun when it comes to bright, '80s-inspired colors. Go for neon green, pink, or yellow pieces to inject some '80s style into your summer wardrobe.
Odd pieces are in. If you're into large and unique jewelry, your personal style is trending this summer. Jewelry designers are coming out with off-the-beaten-path pieces using such stones as opals, topaz, and garnets for their unique colors. Go for pieces and gemstones with a raw, organic, bohemian look.
Pastels say summer - Nothing says a spring or summer wedding like pastels. Innocence is in, so look for pastel-colored pearls in lavender or pink-and match your bridesmaids' dresses with your pearls. At the office, add pastel colored-jewelry to give your neutral-colored office outfits a pop of color.
Retro estate look. There's no shame in shopping estate sales, vintage stores, pawn shops, and yard sales. Estate jewelry is big, thanks in part to the success of the TV series Downton Abbey, so get out there and snatch up some vintage looking pieces in time for four o'clock tea.

Tips For Knowing More About Dental Implants

If you have lost any of your teeth, you should no longer be concerned as there is a considerable amount of hope that can be obtained with the advances that have been made in the field of dental implants. The number of implants performed by practitioners that include dental implants dentists and associates may have actually increased by more than 300 percent in the last two decades, according to reports from the American Dental Association.
There may be variations of the procedure which is medically known as an endosseous implant, and when properly performed by dental implants dentists, it acts as an artificial root, on which an artificial tooth can be attached. The procedure involves a surgical insertion of the dental implants into the existing jawbone, and the two-step procedure, can remain in place for years. The implants procedure is really a minor surgical process, which may be less invasive that having a tooth extracted. There are also significant therapeutic benefits obtained from the procedure, as they can help to prevent further bone loss.
The dental implants procedure is not entirely new, and may have advanced since it was first introduced. Originally, the dentists inserted a blade-like device into the jawbone, however the procedure was short-lived as the blade did not fuse and the tissue did not grow properly around it.
In the 1960s, the procedure was improved by a Swedish orthopedic surgeon, when he introduced implants made of titanium. Per-Ingar Branemark was one of the original dental implants dentists, and he dramatically improved the success rate of the implants, by inserting the root-shaped titanium into the jaw. The body accepted the implant as a natural substance, and the bone grows and fuses to form what was called an osseointegrated biological seal.
In recent years there have been new developments, and the introduction of new materials, and the procedure may have become state-of-the art. Some of the newer materials may be used to coat the screw to promote the cohesiveness and integration of the implant. The design of the screws used in the dental implants process may have also advanced. The surfaces now feature much improved appearances and the engineering makes insertion easier.
The success of the implants depends a lot on the condition of the patient, and the procedure is not recommended for everyone. Major success factors include the integrity of the bone and the ability to grow new bone if it is needed. The age of the patient will also be a major factor when the decision to implant is considered.
There a few conditions those dental implants dentists will use to exclude implants, and the most likely condition is the situation where there may not be enough available bone in which the implant can be inserted. Other condition may include the abuse of alcohol or drugs or tobacco. Individuals who may be at the risk of developing cardiac related problems may also be discouraged from having implants as there is some relationship observed between oral problems and heart diseases.

Home Improvements That Won't Payoff In The End

Everyone knows that a home's features and improvements can make or break a sale. But when it comes to selling your home, you need to know that not all home-improvements are created equal.
While some home improvements are worth the time and money that you put into them, many will not make a difference and will even hurt your resale value.
If you are thinking of selling your home anytime soon, think twice before making any of these improvements
Altering a home's style
Home improvements and renovations that don't match your home's original style can be a huge mistake. So updating your country home with a super sleek look may not appeal to your target market. Differing styles within a home will make it less appealing for buyers to buy it.
Too much Taste
Don't go crazy with your decorations. Using wild colors, outlandish fixtures and unique fabrics may be more of a deterrent to potential buyers when you sell your home. So if you feel your home is your ultimate canvass, remember you may need to tone everything down when it's time to sell. The more unique your home is, the less appealing it will be to the masses, and if you care to get your home sold for top dollar, you'll listen to the masses.
Installing Fancy Technology
Technology is changing fast. Chances are that whatever state of the art gadget you install in your home today, will be obsolete by the time you sell your home. Remember when everyone was wiring their homes for internet?? Now everything is wireless. Some of us have all these extra outlets reminding us of our grand plans.
Home office remodels
Although many families have someone who works from home at least part time, a complete office remodel can be a hurdle to other uses for valuable square footage. Avoid custom bookcase installations and bulky built-ins that are difficult and expensive to remove when you sell your home.
Big Ticket Items
Much like cheap and unique items can undermine your investment, so can overly expensive ones. We've seen sellers who have spent $200,000 on lavish pools, landscaping and hardscape, only to get a 30% return on their investment. So if you want to go wild and put in a wine cellar, green upgrades and a pool sized Jacuzzi, don't expect the buyers to see the value in what you've done. There is a big difference between a buyer liking what you did, and paying what you spent for the improvement.
Changing Rooms Function
Transforming a living room into a large kitchen isn't always your best bet. Altering a room's function is a big risk and while it's great to change your space to your needs, others may find it hard to deal with or even harder to put a value on it. If you are going to stay there for a shorter time, consider the basic functionality buyers will expect.
Unnecessary Improvements
Upgrading your roof when it only needs repairs and upgrading your plumbing systems when you only need few patches are just a few examples of improvements that mean big money that you'll never get back. Instead, do all your routine maintenance items and let the next owner decide what major improvements to make. Remember, out of sight, out of mind.
Way out wall coverings
If you like to experiment with paint colors and personalized patterns, remember that much of this may translate to "out of date" for buyers. It's not personal, it's Real Estate. When you are ready to sell be sure to keep home interiors neutral so that potential buyers have an appealing canvas to see their own vision of the house.
Special Purpose Rooms
Fun rooms that you've always dreamed of, but others rarely need, can pile up the cost of a home that others cannot afford. A guest room or bathroom is probably OK. But stop and think before you spend a load of money on your media or recreational rooms that your buyers won't pay for. These rooms make it harder to sell and boost the price up unnecessarily.
Unfinished or Poorly Done Work
It's one thing to try to save money on projects, however, it's quite another to do a mediocre job. Remember, when buyers walk through your home, they are adding up what it's going to cost them to redo what you didn't do correctly. So if you can't quite afford to do a project right, don't do it at all. Also, projects in progress shouldn't be among the features while you are trying to sell.
Enclosed Porches and Sun Rooms
We've seen these in many homes, in most cases in mediocre condition. A great idea, but as they go unused they seems to wear out faster. Many buyers will see these as lost opportunities for valuable outdoor space or a drain on home energy efficiency. I've seen many sun rooms which are turned into storage rooms, and are typically way too hot, or cold. Instead, keep porches well maintained and remember, an authentic outdoor room is more flexible and appealing to buyers.
Over improving for the neighborhood
This is the biggest mistake that homeowners make. That is not realizing that the value of their home has a limit. If home values in your neighborhood are $200,000, stay away from the $100,000 remodeling job, because you'll never get $300,000 for the home. Try getting market value for a Porsche at a Toyota dealership and you'll know what I mean
Pools and Spas
Even in markets where the weather is sweltering hot most of the year, you will not recoup your investment. In many areas, a pool is a detriment and turns people away from your home. Especially if you have teenagers living at home and they would rather go to the mall than go swimming. Never add a pool thinking it will improve the value of your home.
Intricate Landscaping
There is a difference between manicured landscaping and over the top landscaping. If your landscaping is too over the top, the buyer will initially like it but they will quickly start thinking about the time and cost to maintain a backyard paradise. Keep it simple, easy to take care of with color and impact. Be sure to highlight water-wise irrigation systems when you market your home.
There are two reasons you should take on home improvement projects. You should do them for your own pleasure and in hopes of increasing the resale value of your home. As long as you spend time and money for the first reason, you'll be OK. It's when you for the second reason that you may be in for disappointment.

Wool Rug Cleaning And Care

When your wool rug needs a deep cleaning you should make it a priority to hire a professional cleaner with the expertise to clean and maintain your wool rug. When your professional cleaning is complete, your area rugs will look like new. You already know area cleaning is the most profitable place in the carpet cleaning industry. For best results in Oriental rug care you should start by using steam in your carpet cleaning.
Wool rugs made of natural wool require special attention in cleaning to prolong your area rugs life. Wool has a reputation for being easily stained, but cleaning them is easier than their reputation would let you understand. Nothing is guaranteed to protect your wool area rugs from everything, although that would be nice if you could. One of the most important things to clean wool area rugs is regular vacuuming with a good vacuum. High-quality wool rugs will last for decades with regular care. Prevention is one of the most important aspects of care and maintenance for area rugs.
Once the machine is finished doing the entire carpet it is left to dry and then it is vacuumed. A mixture of sizing and water is sprinkled over the back of the rug, and it is allowed to dry. The rug must be removed quickly, properly cleaned, and allowed to dry completely. When you put the Studebaker on top of a rug to dry it, it actually sits on it. The base of a rug can dry out and become brittle, destroying the strength and durability of the carpet.
Vacuuming would help you get rid of the loose dust and dirt particles that gather on your wool rug on a daily basis. We recommends vacuuming the backside of the rug often, to remove excess dirt. The rug is first dusted, a process which removes the dirt and dust which has accumulated over time. Once the extraneous dirt has been removed, your rug is washed separately in order to protect and revitalize natural fibers. Even with regular vacuuming a rug is a trap for fine dirt and dust. There is a final inspection to make sure the results are acceptable, after grooming and vacuuming the rug one more time.
Hand made special Oriental and antique rugs are sensitive to moth damage. Handmade rugs are much more durable than mass-produced machine made rugs. Assembled component rugs are manufactured by joining together different components, either tufted or woven. Machine made Orientals may cost less, while looking like authentic Oriental area rugs. Hand knotted orientals are true works of art. When considering a rug for your home, there are a number of reasons why you might decide upon hand knotted Oriental rugs or handmade Persian ones.
It is important that you use an rug cleaning service regularly. Wool Rug Cleaning is a specialist service, and should only be carried out by trained professionals that are suitably qualified. Visit Pro Carpet Cleaning for more information and advice.
